This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our incredible students come from all over the world, but as a Title 1 school, we're always struggling to piece together enough funds for electives and extracurriculars such as music. In my guitar class, students are learning the basics of the instrument and becoming inspired to develop a wonderful life long hobby.

Unfortunately, there as simply not enough high quality instruments to go around, let alone for our most motivated students to take home and truly develop their skills as guitarists.

These guitars would provide hundreds of students the opportunity to try out a new potential passion.

Research shows that students who learn an instrument perform better in reading, math, and fare better emotionally. With funding for music and arts education waning, your support is invaluable and will give my students the gift of music!
