This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students have varying forms of learning disabilities. Eager to come to school every day, my students require an "out of the box" approach to education. In order to keep my students coming to school, the school is set up as a vocational training site. This style of education gives students skills to enter the workforce with. Often judged by the world for being labeled as an individual with a learning disability, my students need individuals in their lives who will always be there for them and show them that through hard work, you can get what you want!
In order to keep Lillian's Bistro running for our students, we desperately need pantry supplies, that our budget does not allow us to purchase.
With these pantry items, my students will not become frustrated due to limited supplies and will be able to improve their work readiness skills in the Lillian's Bistro work readiness program. Together we can drastically improve the everyday instructional program of my students!
My Project
Lillian's Bistro is a daily work-training program for my students who are diagnosed with various forms of learning disabilities. Unfortunately, due to school budgets, my students some times do not have the luxury to cook because we can not afford to purchase supplies. Rather than sit back and wait for money to show up, we are striving to make a difference in the every day instructional program of my students. Together we can all come and show my students that their skills based education is important and will guide them towards a career upon graduation. Be the first, be the next and more importantly be the last person to change the dynamics of Lillian's Bistro!
