My Project

As the visual arts teacher, I strive to immerse our students in the arts. In each of their classes in my room, my young artists are discovering an artist inside of them that they did not know was there. Engagement has come easy through their projects but I'm looking to push them beyond their comfort level.

My students love to get creative in class and pull out amazing ideas from their imagination.

When we're having our creativity blocks sometimes students get hung up on how to draw certain things. And there is a line of students waiting to receive my help on how to draw something. We're in need of a set of "How to Draw" books that can aid students during these blocks. Not only will it be teaching students fundamentals of drawing but it will also be reinforcing literacy in our class which is a school goal. I know our students could benefit from books with a wide range of topics that can show them step by step instructions on drawing everyday items as well as some of their favorite characters.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
