Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My wonderful students are energetic five year olds who love to learn about the world around them! Their diversity inspires me everyday, as over half of my students speak Spanish, Arabic, or Amharic at home. My students attend an urban school in Maryland, and are faced with conditions of the highest levels of poverty. Despite this, everyday they work together to learn how to read, write, and do complex math. They explore the world together, learn new vocabulary words and learn how to interact with one another. Most importantly, they have fun and enjoy learning and school to the fullest extent.
My Project
My students love to create and express themselves. However, this becomes quite difficult without basic supplies like glue sticks, construction paper and skin-color crayons that reflect their beautiful diversity! By donating to this project, you will be helping my students receive essential classroom basics that will help us start off strong from day one.
Imagine a Kindergarten classroom without paper or crayons or other basic supplies; these are the challenges my students face daily, and you can help!
My students will use these materials every single day, from vocabulary development, writing and artistic expression to learning addition and subtraction through the arts!
Please consider donating to my project, and helping students start the year off strong!
