Our students are special in their own ways. We do everything we can to bring that to the forefront of their education. We celebrate differences and uniqueness. We serve students impacted with autism and or communication disorders. They are amazing and work hard at both academic and functional goals.
We are always doing our best to be up to date with new, engaging, and research based practices.
Our teachers work incredibly hard to do everything in their power to give their students the best opportunities to learn and grow. Our staff works together in so many formats and have had a lot of success. As we move towards a more inclusive school, the general education and special education teachers have begun to explore co-teaching models and the most effective and efficient ways to provide in-class support to our students.
My Project
Teaching students in a specialized program has its benefits and challenges that are not necessarily apart of academics. One challenge that we have in my classroom is attendance due to illness. I am requesting this project to help increase attendance and improve overall health and wellness in my classroom.
Keeping my classroom clean, organized, and disinfected on a daily basis afterschool will aide in improving student health and keeping the germs at bay!
The items that we are requesting include baby wipes which we can use to clean hands, faces, and surfaces. We'll use the Lysol disinfectant spray to spray handles and desktops once a week after school during flu season. Hand sanitizer can be used for a for quick cleansing of the hands if we are away from a restroom. A supply of Kleenex tissues because we tend to run out mid year. Finally, we are requesting Clorox wipes to help clean and disinfect all tables, desktops, keyboards on a daily basis.
