I teach high school Vocal Music in a Title I district. All students in our county qualify for free breakfast/lunch.
Having a regular creative outlet through music is not just part of a well-rounded education — it is essential for a student's emotional health and well-being.
In addition to helping them be happy, healthy, and productive students, many of our graduated students have gone on to pursue the arts whether that be through teaching, performance, or production.
My students perform for community events as well as local school and district events. These students are full of energy and absolutely love the time they spend with each other. These students work so hard in each performance, I want to help make them feel special and appreciated in any way I can.
Our students learn about music, music technology, and performance, which reinforces their literacy and speaking skills, while also building relationships with others throughout the county.
My Project
My students use sheet music daily in class. Most titles will be fifteen pages or more. Some are stapled copies, but many are loose-leaf style.
These requested Staples binders will help my students keep their music organized so they will be more productive and use class time wisely.
These binders, in essence, become the "textbook" for my music students. They will be able to keep all pages of each title together securely. Having the binders will also limit the time each student spends in class daily trying to find lost music.
Please help my students develop organizational skills by funding this project.
