Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Help us close the educational gap for my eager students! My diverse class lives in a low income neighborhood. Many of my students did not have the opportunity to go to pre-school. With the high standards today for Kindergarten, it is difficult for students who did not attend pre-school to meet these standards. As their teacher I need to fill the gaps that my students come in with, and I need a lot of efficient materials to do so. No time can be wasted in our class! With materials from this project they will develop their literacy skills in order to become successful life long learners and readers.

I am so excited to see their faces when they receive literacy centers from generous donors. My students will be so grateful for all the new learning materials we will have! With my students' enthusiasm and these new materials we can help close the educational gap for my students and for generations of students that will come into my classroom.
My Project
My students are not fortunate to have their parents take them back to school shopping. Their parents are not able to donate the supplies we need to have a successful school year. By donating these supplies my students will have a more positive first school year experience, which will impact their entire student career.
These supplies will help my students socially and emotionally in several ways.
It will help them stay organized which is key to their success throughout their lives. I will incorporate the ink and play dough to help them regulate their emotions and calm down in an appropriate way. The magnet organizers are for my students to store their SOAR bucks for positive behavior. Please help us start out the school year on the right foot with these tools!
