My students need new tennis balls to host matches for our upcoming 2018-2019 tennis season.

I teach in Title 1 high school with over 80% of students on free or reduced lunch. Many of our students come from unstable life situations and enjoy school as their escape and their time to be loved and supported! They often come to school already having overcome a variety of situations by before first block begins, and for that reason and many more, they truly are my inspiration. Regardless of their stories, they love to learn and are enthusiastic about trying new things, especially when they realize that they actually can do it.
My students often fight many obstacles daily in order to have high expectations for themselves.
They want so much to be prepared and ready for their next chapter as they plan what is after high school. They love and look up to their teachers for this and express their desire to try new opportunities often!
Each of my students wants an education to better themselves, even though the method and strategy to achieve that often varies on each student. They love new opportunities, especially opportunities that allow them to realize how much they actually are capable if they commit to improving and believe in themselves.
The Varsity Tennis team was founded in January of 2017 and we are about to start our second season competing! The team was founded with very minimal resources, yet through dedication we were able to work to have a tennis facility built on our campus! This means that for the first time ever, our High School will be able to host home tennis matches. We are now in need of the equipment/tennis balls needed to give our students the experience of competing "at home."
Our team is made up of a wonderful group of students who were all new to tennis last year, but fully invested in the sport and are very excited to continue to develop their skills and bond with their team this season!
Many of our players had not had the experience of playing a school sport, and so tennis has made them feel at home at high school and given them a purpose. By donating to our project, you are giving our players access to high quality tennis balls that is necessary to a successful second tennis season, and also the growing of our tennis program in our surrounding community.
Being a second year program, we have had to overcome some challenges getting our team started. We are grateful for any help and assistance we can earn in order to ensure that our players end up with the successful and fulfilled tennis season that they deserve!
