Since the physics lab we were in had coutnertops/cabinets/drawers all the way around, plus more in the storage room, it wasn't obvious how much there was.\r\n\r\nUntil we started emptying everything out and packing it in boxes. When we moved the boxes downstairs into our new shop space we were just aghast at how much we actually had. And how much we were going to miss the luxury of all that countertop and storage space!\r\n\r\nThe new shop space does not have cabinets and drawers all the way around. In fact, there are no cabinets and drawers. What were we going to do with all our \"stuff\"? Yikes!\r\n\r\nWe did inherit around 10 24\" x 60\" tables, but we'll need most of them for the classroom ara where students will be using their computers. Some of them will be replacing some of the countertop spaces where we had our power tools, hardware boxes, etc. They're at a sitting height, and not a standing height, so they won't work well for power tools, which are safer to use at a proper height.\r\n\r\nHowever we still needed more countertop space. That's where your generosity came in to play. We now have a work bench for some of our power tools. \r\n\r\nThe students use craft supplies and other tools to prepare for competition. All that stuff was stored in drawers in the physics lab. But whoops, no drawers in the new space! Again, that's where your generosity came in. The two rolling carts with all the drawers have solved that problem, plus the see through drawers make it easier to find things!\r\n\r\nThank you so much for supporting our team!","fullyFundedDate":1745508879583,"projectUrl":"project/were-moving-to-a-larger-but-empty-spac/9257748/","projectTitle":"We're Moving to a Larger, but Empty Space!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Keever","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8553699_orig.jpg?crop=1923,1923,x0,y641&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1659883654767","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8553699"},{"teacherId":9348524,"projectId":8417891,"letterContent":"When I first saw that the organization gave to my project, I felt as if I had won the lottery! Then, when they announced that my package had arrived, I was excited and nervous–excited to see that my request was actually accepted, and nervous because I wasn't sure if it would be enough for the project.\r\n Then the moment had arrived to begin assembling the projects! Honestly, students were surprised that someone would be so generous as to donate such a large amount of candy to our school. Not many organizations find opportunities to give so abundantly. When it came time to begin putting the projects together, they were really excited to have such an array of candy to choose from. It really brought their projects to life and gave them a chance to have a great experience making their own pinatas from scratch! Some went above and beyond in decorating their pinatas, and they really had a lot of fun being creative! Interestingly enough, there were always a set number of students who took their designs to another level. They took liberty to embellish the decorations and add components that I had not considered. They were having so much fun that I decided to ask the art department to donate some materials to provide more resources to decorate their projects. Your generous support made this experience possible, so much so that I was able to make it a department-wide experience that incorporated the other Spanish classes as well! As I passed out the candy, I felt as if I was reaching into a never ending reservoir, and it was candy that the students actually enjoyed and didn't pass off to other students. They enjoyed it so much that they became the envy of other students who were not taking Spanish this year! Many students asked where they got their piñatas from and if they could \"join\", ...","fullyFundedDate":1722874857553,"projectUrl":"project/123-liftoff-literacy-and-latino-cultu/8417891/","projectTitle":"1,2,3 Liftoff!
