Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am the Green Team Leader at my school. Last year, with the support of community organizations we were able to put in our first school garden. This year we are continuing our partnership and are in need of supplies to help our students become more involved with our school garden.

I am asking for funding to help us get tools that we need to remove cover crops, tools to dig and rake in the garden as well as gloves to protect our student's hands.

Students will use these tools as they learn how to take care of their school garden and grow food for their families. The cart will be used to put items on from our school garden to share with the community.

The school garden allows students to learn how to grow and care for plants. With help from our community partners native plants have been put in to teach students about the benefit of native plants and pollinators. Our hope is that the school garden becomes a place where students can learn more about how to care for our environment.
