HELP: Grip Strength Needed to Unbound Imagination and Communication

Help me give my students dough to help build their grip strength and alphabetic principle so that writing may come easier. When student have ease of writing, their imagination and communication are limitless.

My Students

Kindergarten is the place where learning for the good of a community is nourished. This is the place where students begin to take healthy risks to acquire and share knowledge and products and processes of learning. This environment is geared to offer ample opportunity to problem solve, and finding student generated solutions that help everyone to succeed in a safe environment where we can also explain learning.

We are active problem solvers while being respecters of communicating solutions.

We learn and grow everyday while making mistakes that are celebrated. We come together from many walks of life in hopes that we can learn, grow, and achieve together.

My Project

The Lakeshore dough will help my students to build grip strength as they are learning to write and improve handwriting. Often times, Kindergarten students come to school without that initial grip strength required for the muscles to adequately form the graphemes they associate with the phonemes they are hearing. In order to write, students must have grip strength this dough will provide.

Once grip strength and alphabetic principle are established, a student can be free to write and communicate.

Student can communicate imaginative existence, inform readers, and share opinions, through writing more fully without physical boundaries impeding this advanced communication.
