Once we arrived at our time and money units in math, the kids were eager to count and organize the individual student \"wallets\". \r\n\r\nAfter learning how to identify the coins and bills, the students learned what the value of the coins were. We then moved into counting money and exchanging denominations and the students engaged with the coins and bills in real world scenarios. The abstract became concrete for our students in such enriching and engaging ways. I could say the same for our clocks and telling time experiences!
