The students that will benefit from this project are located in the San Diego area. Our charter school focuses on growth mindset, kindness, and above all, respect for one another.
Our school is a beautiful blend of cultures and experiences.
Our students learn the languages of Hebrew and Spanish. We value global mindedness and form a strong community of lifelong learners.
My Project
Please help provide "mirrors and windows" through a multicultural library for elementary school students. I want my students to be able to see themselves in the literature I read to them. I also want to provide them with meaningful opportunities to explore lives that are different from their own.
The books I have compiled display many cultures, address gender identity, family representation, and allow us to "travel" far beyond the walls of our classroom-- or our computers during this time!
I look forward to facilitating important discussions with my students as they continue to explore the world around them.
