At our elementary school, we strive to create a positive learning environment for all by empowering students to be respectful, responsible, and safe. Our mission is to create comprehensive, relevant learning experiences for every child by focusing resources so that our students become responsible, productive citizens in a constantly changing global society.
In the heart of Silicon Valley, our school is located in a very diverse neighborhood.
We have students from various ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. What makes our school so special is that students have the ability to come together with classmates and have open conversations about diversity and celebrate cultural differences. The teachers at our school make it a point to establish positive relationships with each student and parent.
My Project
The students at my school come from a variety of backgrounds. Some come from families who support them emotionally and educationally in all aspects. However, some come from families that struggle to support their children in a variety of ways, either because of lack of an educational background, financial struggles or a language barrier.
What is important to focus on is ALL of these students are eager and excited to learn more as well as grow in their reading!
They crave knowledge because they know knowledge is power! They are especially excited to grow in their reading skills and are motivated to keep reading more books!
