My Students

My young learners are excited to learn to read!! Unfortunately, for many English language learners the process to read is an exciting journey that is masked by pain and struggle without leveled books to take-home for homework.

In my first grade classroom, most of students are low-income, that receive the state's free lunch program and almost all face the challenges of poverty.

The struggling reader cannot have the books that he or she is able to read. The student who hesitates in front of a shelf of books can not relax and browse for interesting books to take-home knowing these books are right at his or her reading level.

My Project

My students need special leveled readers books to learn to read in Spanish, to take away the challenge and to make reading extra fun! family support is helpful if we have books to invite the families to read with then. Even though the bleak outlook for many of these students, with the right resources and good instruction, these students can learn to read at grade level!

I am requesting leveled books classroom sets to support students with learning needs.

The cost of the project is including Shipping. The books will be a great resource to teach the grade level skills. They are different types of genres of nonfiction and fiction books. The kids will be so happy to read the books that they will forget the challenges of learning to learning to read Your donation will have a tremendous impact on my students this year and all years to come.
