This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach at one of highest performing middle schools in Texas. Our neighborhood was hit hard by Hurricane Harvey and was the list of schools to not open this school year.

The incredible students at Burbank have been through a tremendous ordeal.

Huckleberry has helped our fantastic kids on many levels. They included him in our yearbook along with his 6th grade friends and the students have even created an Instagram page that shows how much he means to them.

My Project

Huckleberry is a certified Therapy Dog who comes into my school to help out our struggling readers. We are asking for donations to help our lovable hound.

Huckleberry is in need of a comfortable place while he is working, and a harness for walking through halls filled with almost 1,500 middle school students.

Close to 1/3 of our students are Gifted/ Talented in an economically disadvantaged neighborhood hit hard by Hurricane Harvey. We do also have a considerable number of children coming into 6th grade who struggle to read, and they practice with Huckleberry. Can you please help out Huckleberry?
