My Project

I am a social worker and Hope Squad advisor for school. Hope Squad is brand new to our district this year and is an evidence-based, peer-to-peer suicide prevention program built around the power of connection.

I am hopeful that this program will improve our school culture by teaching our students how to manage their emotions and bring acceptance and connectedness among students during an important period of their lives.

The supplies will be used to teach students coping skills, behavior management techniques, and suicide prevention, as well as set up our classroom environment. I am hoping that through this funding opportunity, we will be able to set up our classroom in a warm and welcoming way that will help our squad reach more students, as well as give them a safe place to be.
