This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

Hello and thank you for taking the time and reading our classroom proposal. I am a third grade teacher who loves to teach mathematics to her English Language Learners. I am extremely excited but need your support in making this year fun and educational.

I work in a low income school in California. I am a fairly new teacher and unfortunately, I do not have a lot of manipulatives to help my English Language Learners. As we all know, English Language Learners are usually better at learning when using manipulatives and hands-on activities. The situation is that my group of students and I would really appreciate it if you would help us have the best education ever. We are in need of manipulatives in order to succeed with our learning and you can make a difference! I am fortunate to teach a group of hardworking students that due to poverty are not able to have many hands-on learning experiences. With this, I mention that many of these students are struggling through school, due to the language barrier, being second language learners, and/or not having the parent support at home. I am a true believer that my students will succeed, if we help them, but we all know that in order to succeed we need to work together. I am asking for your help and support in purchasing math manipulatives that will help support our students' learning in this subject.I want my students and every student to be able and succeed with their schooling.

Third grade is a very difficult grade because a lot of new standards, independence, among other important tasks take place. I want to make it easier for my third graders. I believe that all students can and should have goals for the future. The solution to our situation is if you please help us purchase all these math learning centers you will help make math fun and easier to remember. Moreover, these centers are a tool for Independent Work Time and for students to help teach each other while having fun working independently.

I would like to thank you for your help and support. Our students deserve the best education and if you can do something to help them we will thank you. It would be a great feeling to know that thanks to you, our students succeed with their education. For many of our children school is an obligation and others don't get to experience it due to poverty. Let's try and make it as fun and rewarding as possible. Thank you for your time.
