Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are ambitious, hopeful, and curious to embark on a journey that involves community building, raising awareness, developing better strategies, exploring, motivating and doing the unthinkable to create change and bridge culture.
Our teens are creative, enthusiastic, and unique in that they've endured some of life's most difficult challenges while staying resilient and focused.
Our youth continues to dream of seeing the unknown, learning new languages, experiencing foreign delicacies, building relationships, and creating a cultural bridge that unites us regardless of our situations.
Our youth wants to help change our world by empowering each other one person at a time. Bottom line is that students want to develop, invest and be vested in so they're more propelled to improve their lives, homes, and our communities.
My Project
This trip will make a difference in our students' lives because students will be working with 4 different ngo's that focus on environmental sciences through conservation. Students will get training from the Oakland Zoo prior to journeying to Southeast Asia where they will work at elephant conservation, marine biology conservation, pineapple farm, a high school in Malaysia and gibbon conservation.
My students are empowered, hopeful, and curious to explore on a journey across the world that involves lending a hand in non-profit work through STEM to children, resources, and animals.
They deserve the chance to be the change they wish to see while at the same time seeing a world they would otherwise never get an opportunity to see. Our young people have endured some of life's most difficult challenges while staying resilient and focused.
My students continue to dream of doing STEM Research in Southeast Asia while raising cultural awareness between two hemispheres.
