My students need a Kindle Fire to help increase excitement about reading and learning in general, as well as increase engagement and interest.

My Students

Help bring excitement, intrigue, and information into a second grade classroom. Help create kids with a passion for reading by providing a new source of material.

Many of my students come from homes where books and reading are not priorities.

Most parents are working multiple jobs just to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Because of this challenging fact I have many kids who have not yet learned how fabulous reading can be. To most reading is just something they are expected to do, another chore on their list.

My Project

I believe that a Kindle will help create an excitement about reading. It is a technology few of my students have used though all could tell you what it does. The Kindle will allow my students to read new books that interest them instead of the worn out books in our class library that are falling apart at the seams. With a Kindle students will be able to choose books at their level on topics they actually care about. Students will be more excited to read because they will have more choice. It will also allow my struggling readers more options to help them be more successful.

By donating to this project you will be helping my students in so many ways.

You will be putting technology into their hands (there are no computers in the classrooms) and you will be allowing them to experience new and exciting reading opportunities
