Many of my students come from homes where books and reading are not priorities. Most parents are working multiple jobs just to keep a roof over their heads and food on the table. Because of this challenging fact I have many kids who have not yet learned how fabulous reading can be. To most reading is just something they are expected to do, another chore on their list.
