My Project

Our library is in desperate need of updates in books on nature. I would like to see my students get outside more and off of electronics. I hope that some new and compelling books on nature will help to further this goal.

Nature is something that can be enjoyed by all, despite economic status, but there has to be a reason to step through the door and look around.

I especially want to bring my students books about nature in our home state of Arizona! What better way to get them interested in nature than learning about the environment right outside our own doorsteps! With so many field guides available to the flora and fauna of the desert how can they not get interested in exploring it for themselves!

Since not everyone is interested in plants and animals I made sure to include books in insects and snakes, they love all that creepy crawly stuff! I added some books about space, constellations to cover the entire spectrum of nature. This way, weather they want to explore the outdoors during the day or the night there is a book to help them do so! No book collection on nature could be complete without some information on rocks and minerals. We are fortunate to have so many field guides available on all the most enticing subjects.
