My Project

Every student deserves the opportunity to access grade-level learning with confidence and dignity. For many students with reading disabilities, however, traditional classroom materials can create barriers that impact comprehension, participation, and self-esteem.

The C-Pen Reader is a powerful assistive technology tool that scans printed text and reads it aloud instantly, giving students greater access to learning and reducing the frustration that often comes with reading challenges.

In our 8th grade ELA classroom, the C-Pen Reader would provide life-changing support for students with disabilities, including those with dyslexia, reading fluency deficits, processing difficulties, and attention challenges.

With a C-Pen Reader, students can:

* Read and access grade-level novels and texts more independently

* Hear difficult words and passages read aloud in real time

* Strengthen vocabulary and pronunciation skills

* Improve comprehension by focusing on meaning instead of struggling to decode every word

* Participate more confidently in classroom discussions and assignments

* Build self-advocacy and independence without relying solely on teacher or peer assistance

This tool is more than a reading aid. It is an equalizer.

Rather than lowering expectations, the C-Pen Reader helps students meet high academic standards by providing the support they need to engage meaningfully with rigorous content. It allows students to remain included in the same learning experiences as their peers while fostering confidence and reducing the stigma that can accompany reading difficulties.

Your donation would directly impact students by providing access to technology that promotes literacy, independence, and academic success. A C-Pen Reader is not simply a classroom purchase. It is an investment in student confidence, inclusion, and the belief that every child deserves the tools needed to succeed.

Together, we can help ensure that struggling readers are not left behind, but empowered to find their voice and experience success in the classroom.
