I have 48 eager kindergartners who are in a dual-language program! Learning a 2nd language has challenges but without a working projector, it is that much more difficult. Students enjoy seeing, hearing, and interacting with technology rather than simply reading a textbook.
My kindergartners attend a public elementary Title 1 school in Southern California.
They are in a dual-immersion program where 1/2 the day they are learning to read, write and speak Mandarin. I teach 48 students in my dual immersion Mandarin classroom, where English speakers are immersed in the Mandarin language while learning their California standards-based curriculum.
A projector for our classroom will allow me to plan more fun and interactive lessons for my students. Being able to project images, lessons and the occasional video will keep my kindergartners more engaged in their learning. It will keep me from having my back to the students while writing on the white board while allowing me to bring things to life in the classroom.
A projector in the classroom would open up endless possibilities for my students.
It would be a great resource for me and would make it easier for my students to see lessons projected from my laptop. Any donations you are able to make would be greatly appreciated. Help bring my classroom back to the 21st century!
