Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

In my fourth grade classroom, over 25% of my students are new to the United States this year. Learning English is one of the biggest barriers to these students being successful in the classroom. Thankfully, our school has access to amazing online programs to help these students learn English. Unfortunately, we do not have enough headphones for these students to access the online learning. My hope is to have a set of headphones for each ones of my English Language learners so that they can access the tools they need to be successful in school.

In addition to whole class teaching, a large part of student success occurs in a small group setting.

Everyday, I have multiple differentiated groups of students work at my teacher table. This time is so valuable because I can teach exactly what this group needs. My currently teaching table does not have enough chairs for students to be able to sit. The stools in my project will ensure that all students have a seat at my table so they can learn without distractions. These stools also offer flexible seating for students who may find more success in a non-typical chair.

My class and I greatly appreciate any and all donations provided.
