My 6th grade students are eager to read and listen to both informational text such as in English Language Arts and Social Studies and with fictional text in good literature.

Reading and listening opens the world to endless possibilities and future success. My goal and sometimes challenge is to not only create the motivation, skills and lessons for this lifelong habit but to also have the appropriate materials.

I must create an environment conducive to learning. Students will be listening to history lessons, literature lessons and/or reading fluency lessons to better their individual skills. Listening and verbalizing appropriate text is essential with the appropriate equipment.

My Project

Students will be using the Logitech Over-the-Head microphones to gain information through a digital world and to demonstrate and practice fluency skills to build life long skills as readers and as citizens.

This project would significantly help my students in both the modeling and practicing of good literature, history, and information.

We use technology in all aspects of learning. First, connecting information and inferring many topics in both Social Studies and English Language Arts (ELA) helps students to grow in their knowledge of topics and concepts. Hearing it in the proper way helps to enlighten them and make connections in their real world. Second, many students in ELA are given the chance to listen to proper literature and knowledge through great pace, inflection, expression and flow. Hearing all this information, both modeled and practiced, helps students in their on going educational journey.
