Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Project

My students use headphones at many points throughout the instructional day. During literacy they will use them listen to stories and develop comprehension skills . During small group time, students will wear them to complete their individualized math and reading lessons.

I work in an inclusion classroom where many students have difficulty staying focused and on task.

These headphones will not only allow them to hear the text they are listening, but, to focus on the task at hand.

In the beginning, middle, and end of the year students take a diagnostic test in reading and math. Then students are given an instructional path which teaches them the skills they are not proficient in. These headphones will help them stay focused on the skills so they can become avid and proficient readers.
