Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember how to find solutions to a system of linear equations in an ordered pair that satisfies both equations? Well that is only one concept that we need to teach our 8th grade students. 8th grade math is all about algebra! Future workers of America need algebra!

My students are 7th and 8th grade students who struggle in math.

My students are diverse learners who need many alternative ways of learning.

Regardless of their challenges, they strive to learn! Our school is located in a high poverty urban area in one of the lowest states for education funding. The joy of teaching truly comes through when students in our classroom discover when they did not like math in the past, actually LOVE algebra, and they're good at it!

My Project

I have found headphones to be an invaluable tool for many learners. They help students to have the ability to concentrate better, behave positively, and ultimately make learning much more enjoyable. The students are relaxed and proud of what they have accomplished after being at the headphone center.

My students have difficulty focusing on their learning because they struggle to block out extraneous noises that are naturally part of the environment.

These headphones will help my students to focus as well as giving them what then need to access the curriculum for those auditory learners. I have students that just can not process unless outside noises are eliminated.
