Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I teach 22 wonderful 2nd graders in a low income community. All of our students qualify for free lunch. These students have faced many challenges over the last few years thanks to hurricanes, snowstorms, covid, etc. Now we are working to help students catch up on the education that they missed out on.
During intervention time and during our benchmark testing windows our students use a computer to complete their work and assessments.
Therefore headphones are a necessary resource for them. However these headphones do tend to get damaged and need replacement due to normal wear and tear. Some families are able to send in a new set, but most aren't able to afford it.
The same goes for replacing everyday resources such as pencils and erasers.
All students deserve to have the resources needed to succeed. You can help us provide this for them.
