The Nonfiction Reading Comprehension Practice Cards will provide students with the opportunity to familiarize themselves with nonfiction passages. They would be able to practice improving comprehension skills as well as science concepts. This as well as the Reading Comprehension Activity Stations will be great additions to our ELA centers. This process will help them when it comes time to Mclass test and they have to refer to the text to provide details from the story they read. Reading comprehension is a skill that we need to focus on strengthening in 2nd grade, because over time they will need to perfect the skill more and more especial once they reach the EOG grades. Right now the importance is laying a strong foundation. The nonfiction charts will also serve as a good way for the students to gather their thoughts and break down the different parts of nonfiction texts.
