My Students

Within my classes, I have a diverse group of students from all walks of life. My classes are populated with multiple language speaking students, students with disabilities, and economically challenged.

My 6th-grade math students are challenged to develop their math skills using technology and producing collaborative projects.

Students spend their time challenging and advancing their skills working in groups completing STEM-based projects that focus on real-world math situations and computation.

My students love seeing their ideas and projects come to life.

My Project

Students will use their headphones to listen to videos, view lessons, edit their own power points, produce Google documents and complete digital programs in mathematics. After viewing math content, students are assigned a math standard that they must relate to a real-life event. Working in groups they must then create their own problems and discuss the methods used to solve the problems and how it relates to the real world.

The students are then challenged to tape themselves modeling math problems in real-world situations.

The students then share their videos with their peers, coaching each other by sharing their analysis of procedures and methods to solve complex problems.
