I am fortunate to teach fourth grade at a school located in the valley of the Wasatch Mountains, in beautiful Utah.

Eighty-one students visit my classroom each day for literacy, math, and science, all ranging different levels of ability.

Our district has provided our elementary school with reading, writing, and math instructional programs that motivate and engage our students with text as well as online tools (i.e. interactive lessons, games, and digital books) to help transform the total educational experience. I would like to provide my students with an environment that inspires, motivates, and encourages them.

My Project

Every day, throughout the day, in my classroom, we have several opportunities for discussions. During these times, we share our thoughts and ideas… everyone wants a chance to participate and the ability to hear from each other. The Qball Portable, Throwable Wireless Microphone will be an empowering resource for my students; allowing all to contribute in a fun and exciting way.

The Qball will be valuable during our Morning Meetings where we share experiences and ideas, discuss classroom issues, as well as just enjoying each other.

It will also allow students to build communication skills, improve reading and problem solving, boost academic discussions, and, most importantly, have their questions and answers heard. This year I have a student with a hearing aid and a cochlear implant. My classroom has an existing classroom audio system, for this student, that the Qball is designed to work with. The Qball Portable, Throwable Wireless Microphone will help ALL of my students participate, listen and be heard.

I am also asking for 2 Qball covers. It will protect the Qball from the rigors of my classroom use while adding even more fun and engagement. The covers are machine washable; the W's cover helps facilitate classroom discussions, when the ball is caught the student gets to answer the W question their right-hand lands on, Who, What, When, Where, Why, and How!
