My Project

My students are in the 6th to 12th grades in a small rural school in central Illinois. This project helps meet their basic human needs.

Hunger makes academic challenges so much more difficult.

Please help me ease student suffering; many of these kids are on incredibly difficult personal journeys. My students are special because of their perseverance and resilience. They keep showing up and trying to do their best every day despite challenges that would be daunting for most adults. Something as simple as a bottle of milk or a granola bar can make a student feel seen, heard, and cared for. It’s just a moment, but it is one that opens up a willingness to trust and a willingness to try. What seems small is actually priceless!

This project will provide some simple, nutritious snacks, as well as "tuck into a back back" microwave meals for those needing extra support for evenings and weekends.
