Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My school is a dual-language school in the Bronx, in which students are taught in English and Spanish. I have an amazing group this year. My first graders are full of excitement and curiosity. We have had a great start of the school year and I know we will continue to have a year full of excitement, learning, growth, and adventures as we continue their journey of learning to speak, read and write in two languages.
My students are extremely hardworking as they are not just learning in one language but in two.
I know they will continue to show their potential and eagerness to learn more about the world around them in my classroom. I want to give them all the necessities and tools to make it easier for them to achieve their hopes and goals. They are our future and we should most definitely support in every way possible.
My Project
Most of my students come either hungry to the classroom or just don't have enough time to eat before starting class. Students often come to school without having eaten at home or have nothing to eat when is time for lunch or snacks. I have students who express discomfort and hunger pains throughout the day and these snacks would help tremendously to keep my students going and focused.
Help me give my students the snacks they need to uplift their energy inside the classroom.
These snacks will be used throughout the day when students complain of stomaches and to keep them energized. Happy tummies mean happy students. Happy students can do great things in the classroom. It will most definitely take their minds off their stomachs and back to learning.
