I teach 23 5th Grade students who are striving to be new leaders for society. They are filled with imagination, hard-work, and are learning to regain social/emotional skills after being out of school so long during the pandemic.
In this class, we have work hard to build a community around kindness where they all can feel safe.
They have blown me away by the accountability and pure dedication given each day when they arrive. I want to provide my students with the materials they need to have an engaging and successful school year. My students have been so supportive of me and each other. My Project
My students will use these supplies everyday to assist increasing their engagement in the classroom. Our current school schedule due to COVID-19 has our students sitting for almost 3 hours without a break. We do have physical education any more so I am trying to keep my students motivated as much as possible. Utilizing the balance ball chair while also providing new socks will help give these kids incentives to want to keep being phsyical
Using the aquarium to have a class pet will help with a lot of my students who have social emotional learning needs.
It also is a great benefit for our future science units! Healthy bodies lead to healthy minds so I will utilize the materials in ways to keep the kiddos active. There is a lot of focus on social emotional learning that has been affecting academic learning. In order to increase their academics we must first make sure that the children themselves are happy and healthy.
