Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are an amazing group of learners from disadvantaged backgrounds. 100% of our students receive free lunch and 1/3 of the students speak a language other than English at home. The classroom consists of 12 children in special education classes and many more coping with social-emotional issues.
The students have limited experiences outside the classroom walls.
They have limited exposure to current academic materials and often utilize used and donated supplies. The children are eager learners just waiting for the right tools to help them succeed. Please help a great group of children soar high to reach their full potential!
My Project
Our students need supplies to help them stay healthy during cold and flu season in our very chilly community! The students are in need of everyday supplies to help them fight germs and combat viruses. Tissues, paper towels, hand sanitizer and disinfectants are all common supplies that are often taken for granted. In our school, it is something that all too often is sparse.
When our children are healthy, they are able to miss less days of school which in turn leads to more learning and more successful students!
They need to worry less about how to stay healthy and more about how to have fun learning exciting new topics in school!
Please help our students stay in school and away from the cold and flu!
