This year my classroom consists of eleven kindergarten and first-grade students who are five and six years old. We are one of four kindergarten through second-grade classes in an expeditionary learning style school in a rural town on the coast of Maine. Many of my students come from families who make their living from the ocean. 57% of our students qualify for free or reduced-cost lunch.
My students are creative, energized, and eager to learn each day.
My goal as a teacher is to create a learning environment that is not only motivating, but engaging, fun, and memorable.
My Project
Due to COVID regulations we had to turn off our water fountain. Reusable water bottles are a safe way for my students to take a drink without using the water fountain. We have been using cups but water spills are constant because my students are so young. These spill-proof water bottles would help me keep them on task with their daily learning goals with no time wasted!
Each child will have their own water bottle that stays at school!
Students do better and focus more if they are well hydrated and feel safe. Donating to this project will help me help these kids stay hydrated and safe while learning.
