Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Students with autism and other disabilities greatly benefit from direct instruction regarding social skills, vocational skills, and daily living skills. In the Autism-Focused SDC at June Jordan School for Equity, students are learning life skills and healthy eating habits. They are practicing following recipes and cooking meals from scratch, as well as developing daily living routines to support independent living. These materials will help them develop better eating habits and learn how to cook healthy meals. They will support them in creating consistent daily living routines to foster independence for life after high school.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
