This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I work with 6th-grade students in an inner-city charter school in Ohio. This area is high poverty, and most, if not all, of the students fall far below the poverty line. My school is also a Title I school where all of the children receive complimentary breakfast and lunch. They work so hard and have persevered through a challenging year of distance learning.
Every student I work with has many talents and is eager to embrace all 6th grade English Language Arts offers.
My Project
To keep my students as safe as possible during the coronavirus pandemic, we must be taking many precautions to prevent the spread of any germs. My students will use these wipes, spray, hand soap, and other cleaning supplies so that they can clean their hands quickly and conveniently. Because many of them come from poverty situations, they often lack hygiene items at home. By having supplies readily available for cleaning, I can spend more time focusing on instruction.
