Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is full of joy, love, and independent learners. Our teachers work consistently to strengthen each student's special talents and strive to motivate them. It takes a team from our community, parents, teachers, administration, and students to engage our eager participants in order to reach our educational goals in Reading, Math, Health, and Wellness.

My class consists of 15 students that are 4 years old.

This is a "Blended Classroom" with a variety of needs such as Special Needs, Speech, Social Work, while others have English as a Second Language. All are serviced in a classroom that is provided with 1 General Education Teacher, 1 Diverse Learner Teacher, and a Classroom Assistant.

My classroom utilizes small groups to help provide services to children in a more personalized way, as well as differentiate to meet their individual Health and Wellness needs.

My Project

Preschool is the perfect time to introduce children to learn about what keeps one healthy throughout their lives. Eating is for survival, but so is choosing the healthiest of foods to promote wellness in one's body.

The books I have requested will help teach healthy life habits for my preschool students.

Sanitary habits like wearing masks, taking a bath, regularly washing one's hands, brushing teeth, using facial tissue, properly using the restroom, and wearing clean clothes are important lessons my students can learn at school.

Parents rely on schools to help keep their children safe, clean, and emotionally supported while at school. Teachers have high expectations that what students learn at school will be repeated at home and give students the opportunity to live healthier lives as independent as possible.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
