Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Childhood obesity is affecting the new generation! Educate the young and save the future!

My students attend a Magnet school with a health and medical focus.

They are from a diverse ethnic background and live in an impoverished area. They have the ability to succeed but lack the opportunity. Education is their escape and we are their hope to a better future!

My Project

These resources will help my students better understand how to take care of their bodies. I will be able to teach the younger children the importance of nutrition and how it affects their health. Our school purchased MyPyramid materials with our Magnet funds, but the national program has changed to a simpler format using MyPlate. I will use the health puppets to excite them, the MyPlate activities to engage them, and the anatomy apron to inform them.

The future of America is in the hands of the new generation.

The health field is rapidly growing, and it is important that our children are adequately prepared. These materials will give my students the opportunity to learn at their developmental levels.
