Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have eighteen energetic Transitional Kindergartners and Kindergartners who love to come to school every day and want to learn. They always try their best and they are nice and caring students. My school is a Title I school. Breakfast is served daily in the classroom free of charge to students. Many students qualify for a free lunch due to their social-economic background. Parents at our school take advantage of public education. Our school has limited funding for additional resources to enhance development and learning through play.
My Project
My students are 4 and 5 years old who love playing outside. There are numerous benefits of outdoor play. Students develop muscle strength and coordination, and gain self-confidence.
Playing outside increases flexibility, fine and gross motor skills, and is related to the development of a wide variety of physical skills.
I want to promote healthy, active lifestyles. The requested scooter boards are kid-powered, muscle-building fun. Kids control the boards by pushing with their legs, building leg strength. Students use their whole body when they play outdoors. Students not only enjoy blowing bubbles, but they enjoy chasing the bubbles and jumping to pop the bubbles. The bubble supplies will allow students to move and be active. This new outdoor play equipment will make physical activities exciting, interesting and challenging. The whiteboards allow students to draw or write about healthy habits they have established. Students will share their work with the class.
