This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our students are committed to being healthy and fit. We are looking to add equipment to our fitness stations to help us reach our goals. The items requested would allow us to create fitness stations that would increase balance, upper body strength, endurance, and speed and agility skills.

Our students are energetic and active, always looking for new ways to keep our bodies fit.

We strive each day to keep our bodies moving to help our heart, bones and muscles as we maintain a healthy level of fitness. I continue to be amazed by the skills and motivation our students have as they are exposed to new activities and experiences. Fitness stations are a tool we use to expose our students to a variety of activities. Our students will have many more opportunities to work on the skills and personal goals. Our school caters to a high poverty area with at-risk students. Many of our students do not have the resources to work on their own and lack opportunities to do so. I strive to expose our students to a variety of skills that will help make them lifelong learners. Being in a low income area also affects our school budget and resources. We lack many basic pieces of equipment to help us achieve our goals.

My Project

Our students will be able to learn a variety of physical fitness skills that will help ingrain commitment to lifelong fitness and learning, including balance, flexibility, muscular strength and endurance. Our fitness stations and the equipment donated will give us the opportunity to achieve goals we have set. At each station, we will have a task to perform and goal to reach. The exercise balls, dumbbells, balance beam, and speed and agility kit requested will allow our students to work at their level and add some fresh new materials to our instruction and participation.

This project will give many students ages k through 6, the opportunity to achieve goals they have set to maintain a healthy level of fitness.

These experiences will help our bodies and minds be fit in ways that they otherwise wouldn't be able to. This project would make a large difference in our participation and instruction moving forward.
