This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom is composed of 25 kindergarten scholars who are ready to learn! Each day, we eagerly greet new learning experiences as we explore our world. Every child is so excited to learn, anticipating what new adventure awaits beyond our classroom door.
My kindergarten scholars are in need of basic health care items in order to help them stay healthy enough to come to school for both breakfast and lunch each day.
With so much to learn each day, we are excited to learn how to keep ourselves healthy and our bodies clean as we learn about proper personal hygiene. Although several of my scholars come from homes that are experiencing economic hardship, generous donors will help me join the fight against educational inequity.
My Project
The items funded for this project will allow us to explore the purpose and jobs of each tooth. We will further understand the importance of using soap and will experiment with how to properly lather our hands when we wash. Finally, we will also find out how to protect our skin from cold elements as we understand how lip balm and lotion will help us be healthier, too.
Our lessons will include proper hygiene for our bodies as we learn how to keep ourselves healthier and happier.
My scholars helped plan our lessons as we wish to explore healthy teeth and healthy bodies as we continue to make our minds healthier with more knowledge. My scholars are also very hopeful they will have the opportunity to own a tube of toothpaste and lotion personally. Since they usually must share any items at home, this personal ownership has created a great deal of excitement.
