This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

"Treat a man as he is and he will remain as he is. Treat a man as he can and should be, and he will become as he can and should be." My students are curious and eager to learn. I want them to become what I know they can and will be...successful!

I am a first-grade teacher in a high poverty school.

We are a Title I school and also participate in the free and reduced rate lunch program. All of our students are eligible to receive free breakfast and lunch each school day.

My Project

Germs are everywhere, especially a first grade classroom! Lysol disinfecting wipes are used daily throughout the classroom to clean up spills and messes and to sanitize desks, chairs and many other surfaces in our room. Hand sanitizer will also help to keep students healthy and limit the spread of germs each day. Tissues are another basic necessity for all of my students.

By providing my students with these basic care items, I will be able to do my part in making sure students stay healthy, happy and learning all school year.
