Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My special needs students are eager to learn. They are like sponges absorbing all the information they can receive from me or anyone who presents to them. All of my special needs students are ELL with English as their second language. Although my students speak both Spanish and English, my parents speak only Spanish.
Most of my students come to school with chapped lips, dry skin, and have body odor during the school year.
This makes it difficult when my students are trying to learn daily. The students are excited to learn with their peers and feel fresh and clean at school and at home.
My Project
Personal hygiene is a major importance for my students. Daily using deodorant, toothbrushes, toothpaste, wipes, soap, handsanitizer, and disinfectant spray are supplies that will help my students to have healthy, happy lives. Most of my students are from low-income families. Their families can't afford to send these items for us to use daily in our classroom.
The toothbrushes and toothpaste will allow my group of special needs students to continue to keep their teeth healthy and clean.
Having these items to use in our classroom will help my students stay healthy. Happy and healthy will be a win-win for my students!
