Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The area in which my school is located is in an area of poverty where parents are always working and cannot afford school supplies. My students are lacking many necessities. I want them to be successful kindergarteners. This is just the beginning for them.
All students receive free lunch.
However, I want to make sure that they have everything that they need. This includes nutritious healthy items that will grow strong and healthy children. They are young and need to learn how to eat right.
My Project
My students are bright, energetic, young learners. I want to teach them about nutrition and taking care of themselves. They are 5 and need to learn how to eat healthy and clean up after themselves.
I have asked for fruit and vegetable cutouts to teach them about the different types of fruits and vegetables they can eat.
I also asked for Welch's Fruit Chews and Fruit Gushers, so that they can see that not all fruits taste bad or come in just one manner. Finally, we need some cleaning supplies. We will use them to clean up after ourselves which will stop the spread of germs and disease.
