My Project

Our initiative aims to enrich the educational experience by integrating social-emotional learning (SEL) resources such as books, games, and mindfulness tools into the curriculum. These assets nurture emotional intelligence, fostering crucial life skills like empathy, self-awareness, and resilience. By providing access to these resources, we empower students to explore emotions, build healthier relationships, and navigate challenges effectively, leading to enhanced academic performance and overall well-being. Our primary goal is to foster a school environment prioritizing the holistic development of every student, promoting emotional wellness, cultivating empathy, enhancing academic success, and building stronger communities. Our students are a diverse and vibrant community, resilient and eager to learn despite challenges. Investing in their social-emotional development empowers them to become compassionate, empathetic leaders of tomorrow.

My program is especially in need of such resources as we support students who have been identified as at-risk of not graduating due to many factors which can include home situations, friend issues, learning challenges, and emotional fragility.

Our students find connections within our program through activities such as those we are requesting and we would like to increase the variety of options we provide so we can meet their diverse needs. Our program provides the feeling of a family during the school day and these activities provide a comfortable way for our students to begin to trust our staff and our space.
