Students have appreciated having several different snack options when they haven't been able to grab breakfast before coming to class or are just hungry mid-morning and need something to tide them over before the second lunch hour. Students are also thankful for a quick snack before their last class or even just after when they're on their way to a practice and need some additional fuel. \r\nStudents have also enjoyed engaging with the new kinds of fidgets before and during class time. Several of the different fidgets are kinds that we have not previously had in my room, and I heard many comments like, \"cool\", \"hey, did you see this?\", or \"try this one out\" as they explored the new options they had. The donation has allowed me to have enough fidgets to put them in multiple places throughout the room for easier access. \r\nLastly, one of the more popular items that was funded through this project were the floor cushions. I wanted a different option for students, and while I wasn't sure if high school students would use them, they have been a popular choice during open work time. Thank you again for thinking of my students and helping to fill a need so quickly.","fullyFundedDate":1756327319218,"projectUrl":"project/engagement-tools-and-brain-food-for-hung/9592564/","projectTitle":"Engagement Tools and Brain Food for Hungry Minds.","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Lombard","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10175935"},{"teacherId":2392179,"projectId":4912353,"letterContent":"Thank you for your incredible support! Your contribution has fundamentally changed how I teach computer science and has had a profound impact on my students. The Firia Labs professional development didn't just elevate my teaching; it brought the world of robotics to life in our classroom.\r\n\r\nThe Inside Scoop: The Conference and My Learning\r\nThe virtual professional development with Firia Labs was a game-changer. I didn't just learn how to program a robot; I learned how to teach physical computing in an engaging, project-based way. The curriculum taught me how to guide students from foundational Python skills to controlling hardware, all within the intuitive CodeSpace platform. The highlight for me was seeing the progression from simple coding exercises to real-world applications.\r\n\r\nA Specific Classroom Example\r\nI immediately put my new knowledge to use. I was able to take the \"CodeBot Line Follower\" project and adapt it for my students. We started with the basic Python syntax to make the CodeBot move forward, but then we dove into using its sensors to detect lines on the ground. My students were so engaged, they weren't just writing code—they were actively problem-solving and debugging to get their robots to follow a specific path. Seeing their faces light up when their CodeBot successfully navigated the track was incredible.\r\n\r\nYour support has made this hands-on, authentic learning possible. Now, instead of just seeing code on a screen, my students see their code literally come to life, igniting their passion for computer science in a whole new way.","fullyFundedDate":1589398244435,"projectUrl":"project/firia-labs-python-robotics-career/4912353/","projectTitle":"Firia Labs + Python + Robotics = Career","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Walz","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2392179_orig.jpg?crop=576,576,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1723504692285","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2392179"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_38286","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":873,"numTeachers":58,"percentFrplEligible":32,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":83,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"15.1:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"TOWN","ncesMetroType":"TOWN_DISTANT"},"inStateSupporters":76.9,"schoolId":38286,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Sauk Prairie High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Sauk Prairie High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/wisconsin/sauk-prairie-school-district/sauk-prairie-high-school/38286"}
