Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will help cover the cost of the Breathe For Change comprehensive training program. It is designed for educators to build skills used to facilitate wellness and social-emotional learning in the classroom and teach inclusive and trauma-informed yoga classes. This professional development will empower me to be present with my students and strategically design a safe, healthy, and inclusive space where students can be their whole selves.

My goal is to help my students discover how to use yoga and mindfulness as a vehicle for healing and learning which will assist them with managing transitions and self-regulation.

Breathe for Change believes that increasing the well-being of educators will enhance learning environments, which in turn leads to a positive community culture. I can't wait to implement the mindfulness strategies I learn in my personal life, with my students, and with the whole school community!
